All we want for Christmas Is Gains, Gains and lots of Gains

All we want for Christmas Is Gains, Gains and lots of Gains

Dear Santa,

All we want for Christmas Is Gains, Gains and lots of Gains

It’s almost that time of the year where our neighbourhoods, offices and homes are glistening with bright lights to illuminate even the dourest of winter days.

Our Festive enthusiasm only heightened by the thought of having extra bank holidays presumably to recover from the gluttony and abundance that the holiday season brings each year.

As we spend more free time with our loved ones,we may be forgiven for wanting to avoid social media not entirely because we see others who may be keen to show off their matching pyjamas.

Another dreadful sight is the equally repetitive new year new me, or the seamless boundless lengths we go to convince others and ourselves that at the stroke of midnight the fitness fairy will strike a magic wand over us & ensure that we make manifest those exact fitness plans, resolutions we promised ourselves the year before and year before that and before that also.  Sound familiar?

The truth of the matter is that resolutions are a great entry point in terms of motivation but what happens when the novelty wears off before we are able to achieve the desired goals we set off on.

Don’t worry at blue-chipfitnessstore we believe that fitness is more than a resolution or a wish we make to Santa but rather a choice, a way of life and a lifestyle.

“Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time.” – John C. Maxwell

That’s why we are encouraging all our beloved patrons to get ahead of the curve all December to not only ensure that we are hitting our targets but also enjoying every last minute of it.

Just like Christmas itself isn’t necessarily about just the time off we have, but rather the fact it’s one of the only times of the year where everyone is almost simultaneously off and the joy of coming together, giving gifts or spending time helping others we may not often have a chance to do.

We already live in a pressurised society where we feel under pressure to meet deadlines, or parent or generally just make ends meet. The last thing we need is us fueling the inferno with self-imposed targets that often lead to greater discouragement, guilt or negative self-esteem if not attained.

View Daily workout as your escape, your time to rebuild, refocus and re-energize as oppose to a place that increases stress to get a desired result.

Fall in love with who you are now, be content with every last inch of yourself and then make a commitment to improve each and every single day.

The only competition we ever have is the person staring at us through the reflective lens of a mirror, after all who else is likely to be there every step of the journey, we take to being the fittest version of ourselves.

Here are some tips we believe can help anybody reach the desired goal of self-improvement and of course gains gainsgains!

  • Make a commitment to try and do a little every day, whether it be for 5 minutes or 50 minutes, taking a little time every day to work on our fitness goals not only improves our confidence but also aids in releasing endorphins which contribute to overall mental and physical wellbeing.
  • When in doubt- Lift It out, Countless studies have shown that Resistance training contributes greater to body composition, as well as improve overall mental and physical wellbeing.
  • Progress should be the goal and not perfection, fortunately for us none of us will ever attain perfection. We ought therefore to strive for gradual progression which in turn fuels the inferno. Remember seeing little gains along the way will only encourage us to go further.
  • Weigh Yourself, record your progress and never look back- The end of something is always better than the beginning. The body is one of the most adaptable things humans may have ever come across. The more consistent we are in taking these little steps, you would be surprised at how quickly you start to see physical gains in terms of endurance / One rep maxes long before we see the physical.
  • Less sugar and more fruits, replacing sugary snacks with fresh fruits will contribute in building the necessary motivation in building our best version of ourselves,
  • “Sleep: The golden chain that ties health and our bodies together” Thomas Dekker. Never underestimate the power of rest. Lack of rest will only delay your progress both in terms of your output when you train and muscle recuperation after you’ve finished working out. Train, Eat sleep, Repeat.
  • Lastly the virtue of patience, “Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.” —Jean-Jacques Rousseau. There is no easy road when it comes to this, we don’t advocate for steroids which often do more damage than good in terms of impact on your long term’s health and organs.

Fall in love with you, fall in love with training and it won’t be long before progress elevates you into a better version of you.‘Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” – Robert Collier
